I started on the Cambridge 1-2-1 diet in January 2023. After several years of not being able to shift weight and feeling more and more miserable with how I looked and felt, I decided to give the diet a try.

 

Sharon was really helpful in talking through how it works, and I could see that it had worked for her, which was an additional motivator.

 

I decided to go for the 800 kcals per day option and I soon worked out how I wanted to spend my calories. My husband did it with me – this made it so much easier as I had constant support at home and so did he. It was tough for the first couple of months, adjusting to the diet. BUT, the results are so quick that it just motivates you to keep going. I lost three stone in around four months. We both then introduced exercise and we eased off at weekends, so we could enjoy our social life and not feel like we were missing out.

 

The diet, although strict, gives you structure and takes away the thinking for you. The choice of meals, snacks and drinks is really good, so you can work out what you like and what you don’t. The secret weapon was the jelly! Something sweet each night that did not eat into the calorie allowance really worked and it felt like a treat!

 

Sharon makes ordering and collecting the products easy – even when I left it to the last minute at times.

 

19 months later, and I have kept the weight off. Cambridge 1-2-1 will be my backstop, when I need to re-set. This has been the only thing that has worked for me in recent years. You need to want to lose the weight – that is hugely important. Once you have made that decision and the decision to make some initial sacrifices, you are a long way towards your goal already. Then, decide what meals and snacks you like the look of and get going. It really has changed my life. I feel better about myself than I have done in at least a decade.
