And the The 1:1 Diet Wellbeing Award winner for 2024 is ... Olivia Hyman

What is the Wellbeing Award?

This award is for the person who’s not only changed the way they look, but also embraced wellness and transformed their health. Maybe they’ve been able to reverse their type-2 diabetes, and feel healthier than they have in years. Or it might be a more personal story, one where they’ve been able to successfully grow their family after years of fertility issues. Whatever the journey, it’s time to celebrate how much they’ve achieved.

Let's talk about Olivia...

My Motivation

Struggling to do simple tasks, like putting her shoes and socks on, Olivia became depressed. She could no longer do the things she used to be able to do, before becoming wheelchair dependent, and knew she had to make a change to reclaim her health.

My Journey

“My story is one of perseverance, transformation, and unexpected twists. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of three, my early years were marked by learning and physical challenges. Despite these hurdles, I enjoyed a happy childhood and found solace and strength in physical education, especially weightlifting. This passion led me to the UK National Junior Games, where I excelled and eventually competed in European championships, winning various medals and I was earmarked to represent the British powerlifting team in the 2012 Paralympics in London.”

But, as her mobility started to decline significantly and the weight crept on, Olivia found herself increasingly dependent on a wheelchair.

“My brother-in-law recommended The 1:1 Diet and from the very first meeting with Eleanor, I knew that I had found someone that could really help me embark on my weight loss journey.”

In just a few years, Olivia has lost an inspiring eight stone, transforming her body and life in ways she never thought possible.

“Today, I can walk with the aid of a rollator for 3-4 hours per week, and I can quickly move in and out of my wheelchair. I can put on my shoes and socks by myself, something I hadn’t been able to do in years. My appearance has also transformed, not just in terms of my body shape and my face, but in the clothes that I can now wear. I used to only ever wear loose leggings and baggy jumpers, but now I can wear dresses and fitted trousers and tops; everyone has noticed the difference”.

Testimonial

“Olivia has always been determined to find solutions and work through challenges that have come her way in life. She has had various success with weight loss groups in the past. But found them far too prescriptive. Not much fun and difficult to sustain. This duly changed when she discovered The 1:1 Diet and with Eleanor’s consistent support and guidance. Her life has changed immensely with the steady sustained weight loss."

"She is also able to use her rollator for exercise. Olivia‘s daily life is much improved with the ability to get in and out of a wheelchair, stand and navigate a variety of venues as well as being able to dress herself. Her determination through the whole process has been 100%, despite various temptations along the way."

"She enjoys travel, different cuisines and socialising, plus her performance at work has massively improved. She has now managed to incorporate regular food into her diet and maintained her weight of around eight stone. We are all thrilled with the results.” - Nicole Hyman
