Gemma Warne has accomplished more in the past year than most people would in a lifetime. She runs every week, has taken part in a half marathon, goes to the gym and swims regularly.
It’s a far different story from a year ago when, returning from her dream honeymoon with her new husband, Rob, Gemma was too embarrassed to ask for a seat belt extender.
“We were on the flight back when Rob had to ask the flight attendant for a seat belt extender. I was so embarrassed,” said Gemma.
“I felt my face go red and my eyes filled with tears. I needed to do something urgently; my body was taking over my life.
“I’d been ill for the past year and suddenly kept putting weight on. No one knew what the issue was. I’d had blood tests, but the only thing that came back negative was I was deficient in Vitamin B12.
“My husband and I thought a change of diet would help, but also suspected the weight gain could be because of my contraceptive pill.”
Gemma needed the help and guidance of a Consultant who understood her and could guide her through the anxiety, panic attacks and undiagnosed illness she was suffering. She contacted Jeremy and they worked together on a weight loss strategy to fit in with her busy lifestyle, with achievable milestones.
“Jeremy’s knowledge has helped change my life,” said Gemma. “He coached me and helped me stay focused when I was having a bad day. I liked his straightforward and realistic approach.
“His voice constantly in my head, I stuck to the Plan 100 per cent, even when I was on holiday.”
Gemma was determined to be a finalist in The 1:1 Diet Slimmer Awards, held last November.
“I was on a mission,” she admitted. “I wanted to be a slimmer finalist from day one. I told Jeremy it was a goal for me personally and, with Jeremy supporting me, I knew I could achieve anything.
“What makes us click? We’re both as mad as each other! He’s not just my Consultant, I consider him a great friend. I feel like I can talk to him about anything, not just The 1:1 Diet.
“He’s become a huge part of my life. We’ve even been shopping together and from time to time offer each other fashion advice via FaceTime.
“Working in partnership with Jeremy has given me back my enthusiasm for life. I’ve even completed a half marathon.”
What’s more, Gemma not only made it to the Slimmer Awards finals, she did it with Jeremy as they were shortlisted for the prestigious The 1:1 Diet Award!
“When Gemma came to see me, I could see she was upset and at the end of her tether. I was determined to find out what was going on,” said Jeremy.
“We had an in depth conversation about what was going on in her life.
“We decided on a structured approach to Gemma’s weight loss. I knew how driven she was and wanted to create a framework that would not just be short term but would last a lifetime.
“We’re both have very similar personalities and are very focused. Once Gemma set her mind on her weight loss goal, nothing would stop her.
“I’m so proud of Gemma, she’s completed a half marathon and has turned her life around.”
