Like many mums, I put on weight after having children. By the time my youngest turned 13, I realised I was still carrying the baby weight. Add in the challenges of reaching middle age and perimenopause, and losing weight felt harder than ever.
Around the same time, I went through COVID and also had an operation in 2021 that required steroids and other medication, which contributed to weight gain. It felt like a perfect storm and my health and weight gradually became harder to manage.
Then in 2022, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Being prescribed medication was a real wake up call, and I knew it was time to prioritise my health.
I also live with ADHD, which means I struggle with executive function. Meal planning, shopping and deciding what to eat every day can often feel overwhelming. I needed a plan that was simple, structured and took the guesswork out of eating.
That's why the Cambridge Weight Plan worked so well for me. The meal replacements removed the daily decision making around food, making it much easier to stay consistent and focus on creating healthier habits.
I didn’t do it alone. I actually started the plan with my husband, which made a big difference as we were able to support each other and do it together as a team. My husband and son have both followed the plan as well, showing how it can fit into different family lifestyles.
I still use some of the products as part of my maintenance and really enjoy them, with a few definite favourites that fit easily into my lifestyle.
My own experiences as a busy mum, someone navigating middle age and perimenopause, living with ADHD, and managing Type 2 diabetes mean I understand that everyone's journey is different. My role isn't to judge or tell you what to do. It's to support, encourage and help you find an approach that works for your life.
I'd love to help you take that first step towards feeling healthier, happier and more in control.
