My Story...
5 years ago I lookedvery different (picture in long red dress). In 2019/20, following the bereavement of someone very close to me, working 2 jobs, studying for an MSc, Covid (I was working in a Covid ward) and trying to move house I gained a TON of weight back. I forgot all the good habits I’d put in place to maintain my weight loss from 14 yrs ago, I went into survival mode. I ate at bad times of day, nothing nutritious, take aways, high sugar, high caffeine. Deliveroo became my best friend. On top of all that the big M (menopause) then hit me and my waistline expanded further.
I finally decided enough was enough. I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror, my clothes were all tight, I was always uncomfortable. My joints hurt, even climbing the stairs felt hard work. Having gone from being described as always looking glamorous, I felt a frump!
So at the start of October last year I put myself back on plan. I started on step 3 and flipped between step 1b, step 2 and step 3 depending on the day, what I was doing and where I was. I have lost 5 stone since then. The photos of me in black show a bit of the difference so far, The larger me wasn’t actually taken until 3 weeks of being back on plan so my stomach is actually smaller there than it was 3 weeks prior but seeing it is still quite shocking!
I want to lose a little bit more over the next few months but will do so on the higher steps now I've learnt how to control myself around food.
