Following the success of last year’s Slimmer Awards 2024, we’re so excited to finally announce our Slimmer Awards 2025 shortlist. With three to four shortlisted candidates for each of the six awards, it’s going to be tough to find a winner - especially with these inspiring journeys. Read on to learn more about our star Slimmers’ stories.
Transformation of the Year Award
What is the Transformation of the Year Award?
This award goes to the person who’s truly overhauled their life through weight loss. It could be that they’ve found love since losing weight, and are now planning the wedding of their dreams. Or maybe their newly discovered confidence landed them an amazing job, doing something they could’ve only ever imagined before The 1:1 Diet. It’s an award that’s all about celebrating life’s big, and sometimes small, wins.
So, here’s who made the shortlist…
Abigail Bush
Consultant: Emma Castle
Weight loss: 9st 12lbs

Overcoming many personal traumas and health concerns left Abigail struggling with her weight and her relationship with food. After hitting her heaviest (21 stone), Abigail decided to join The 1:1 Diet - and she hasn’t looked back! “The biggest win? I’m a happier, more confident me. I’m friendlier, more energetic and proud of myself. My depression has lifted, my blood pressure meds are down, and life just feels lighter and brighter.”
Daisie Jenson
Consultant: Tina & Scarlett Brown
Weight loss: 7st 6lbs

Being told she was at risk of a heart attack due to her weight at age 25, a fire was lit within Daisy, and she knew she had to make some serious changes. Fearing she may be doing irreversible damage to her body, Daisy joined The 1:1 Diet, where she not only lost 7st 6lbs, but she also gained confidence and a passion for exercise.
Hyacinth Robinson

Pre-diabetic with high blood pressure and sleep apnoea, Hyacinth was struggling at her heaviest. Inspired by another Slimmer, Donna, Hyacinth knew she could turn things around - after all, she didn’t want to feel grumpy and frumpy at her 60th! Since starting her weight loss journey, Hyacinth has lost over 8 stone, dropping from a size 24 to a slinky size 12 - amazing!
Woman of the Year Award
What is the Woman Of The Year Award?
This award goes to the woman who’s done it all. Think huge transformation, a life-changing weight loss and a healthier attitude to food. Not only that, she’s discovered a new zest for life, becoming an inspiration and icon to all those who want to follow in her footsteps.

Margaret Adereti

Weight loss: 9st 4lbs

A self-confessed emotional eater, Margaret’s weight soon piled on after being diagnosed with Lupus, lung disease and heart issues. Now she’s over 9 stone lighter, more confident than ever and enjoying regular exercise without the daily pain.
Rachel Cane
Consultant: Justine Langford
Weight loss: 9st

Desperate and considering weight-loss surgery, Rachel made a last-ditch attempt to lose the weight naturally with The 1:1 Diet. And that she did! Two years later and 9 stone lighter, she’s got the energy to be the mum she’s always wanted to be.
Pip (Philipa) Smith
Consultant: Josie Heath-Smith
Weight loss: 15st

At just 22, Pip’s world was shattered after the loss of her baby daughter, Daisy, when she was just 7 months pregnant. Broken and feeling lost, the weight crept on. The turning point came when she realised she needed to stay focused for her other two daughters. Now she’s a whopping 15 stone lighter, walking up to 40k steps every day - with a goal to climb Ben Nevis in the new year.
Man of the Year Award
What is the Man of the Year Award?
This award goes to the man who’s not only lost a life-changing amount of weight, but who’s also discovered a new passion for life, becoming an inspiration and guide to all who’ve followed his journey. From big physical transformation to a new and healthier approach to food, this is our man of the moment.
So, here’s who made the shortlist…
Jake Caldwell
Consultant: Sally Boyd
Weight loss: 7st 2lbs

After decades of struggling with his weight, and being offered bariatric surgery, Jake decided to put himself first. Starting off small, he soon saw big changes - from weight loss to feeling stronger physically and emotionally. He’s now over 7 stone lighter and running Park Runs and 10ks in his spare time.
Barrie Harrison
Consultant: Susan & Andy Strath
Weight loss: 5st 13bs

Barrie’s key motivation from the start was his son, Romeo. He didn’t want to just be there for him; he wanted to live life fully with him. So, in January of this year, Barrie and his partner started The 1:1 Diet together. Since then, he’s lost nearly 6 stone, joined the gym and is back playing rugby.
Aidan Pritchard
Consultant: Tracy & Dave Willett
Weight loss: 6st 2lbs

As a paramedic working on the frontline, Aidan wanted to transform his health to better help others. After a low moment on a ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Aidan committed to losing weight with The 1:1 Diet. For Aidan, his journey has been life-changing, and he’s now planning his wedding for 2026 - the future’s looking bright!
Wellbeing Award
What is the Wellbeing Award?
This award is for the person who’s not only changed the way they look, but also embraced wellness and transformed their health. Maybe they’ve been able to reverse their type-2 diabetes, and feel healthier than they have in years. Or it might be a more personal story, one where they’ve been able to successfully grow their family after years of fertility issues. Whatever the journey, it’s time to celebrate how much they’ve achieved.
So, here’s who made the shortlist…
Claire Banes
Consultant: Claire Pierrot
Weight loss: 5st 6lbs

Struggling with constant migraines and diabetes, Claire was encouraged by her mum (who lost 2 stone) to start The 1:1 Diet. Setting herself monthly challenges, and clocking up 10k steps every day, Claire soon saw the weight drop off - all the way down to 15 stone! She’s now been able to reverse her type 2 diabetes, her migraines are gone and she’s never felt more confident.
Alison Hopkins
Consultant: Leanne & Bryan Steven
Weight loss: 5st 12lbs

Ex-GB athlete and paralympian, Alison was tired of feeling trapped and miserable. Stuck in a cycle of comfort eating and beating herself up, The 1:1 Diet came into her life at just the right moment. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that The 1:1 Diet, and Leanne’s support, have completely changed my life. I finally feel like the best version of myself again: strong, capable and proud.”
Barry McCann

Initially, Barry joined The 1:1 Diet to support his wife Susan’s newest business venture. But, he soon realised he was actually doing it for himself. He’s now been able to reverse his diabetes, be less reliant on his wheelchair and transform his mental health.
Maintainer of the Year Award
What is the Maintainer of the Year Award?
This award is for the person who’s lost weight and kept it off for more than two years. A story of how they’ve proven time, and time again, that they’ve not only transformed the way they look but the way they live their life too. It goes to those who recognise that The 1:1 Diet is a lifestyle change, and that only through motivation and dedication you’ll make a transformation that lasts a lifetime.
So, here’s who made the shortlist…
Ann Barrowman
Consultant: Martin Bryan
Weight loss: 7st 10lbs

Ann is proof that it’s never too late to start something big. After losing her husband and suffering a devastating heart attack, Ann knew it was time to change her life. That’s when she joined The 1:1 Diet, after being inspired by her son’s own personal journey. Since then, she’s gone on to lose an incredible 7st 10lbs, dropping from 18.5st to 10st 11lbs, and now regularly walks 10k steps every day.
Jean Miller
Consultant: Claire Pierrot
Weight loss: 6st 13lbs

Miserable, in pain and withdrawn from society, Jean was struggling with her weight. Tired of ‘barely existing’, Jean decided to give The 1:1 Diet a shot - and we’re so glad she did! She’s now nearly 7st lighter, off her blood pressure tablets and finally enjoying a healthy relationship with food.
Aziza Squires
Consultant: Philippa Williams
Weight loss: 8st 8lbs

After discovering she had pre-cancerous cells in her womb, and being told by her GP that losing weight would help with an hormonal imbalance, Aziza joined The 1:1 Diet. A former yo-yo dieter, Aziza was determined to stick at it and went on to lose over 8.5st, dropping from a size 20 to a size 6 - incredible!
