5 Years On: Landmark Trial Announces ‘Soups & Shakes’ Diet Remains Most Effective Remedy for Long-Term Type-2 Diabetes Reversal

The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan has been proven to be effective in reversing Type-2 Diabetes, according to the results of the DiRECT trial launched by Diabetes UK in 2018. The study found that nearly half of the participants (46%) were able to reverse their condition through being on Plan with The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.

Recently, a new report revealed that almost a quarter (23%) of the participants who were in remission from Type-2 Diabetes after two years, remained in remission five years later. This is a remarkable achievement, particularly when compared to the traditional diabetes treatment, which only helped 4% of the dieters reverse their condition.

Furthermore, those who succeeded in reversing their Type-2 Diabetes with The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan lost nearly double the weight of those in the alternative control group, with 8.9kg versus 4.6kg. The five-year results also showed that the 23% who remained in remission had lower blood pressure and halved their risk of serious health issues.

In the original trial, The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan provided test group dieters with food products such as soups, shakes, meals, bars and snacks, as well as one-to-one support from a Consultant. The personal support and motivation provided by the Consultants were cited as a significant factor in the participants' initial weight loss success, making it a key USP of the brand versus alternative TDR (Total Diet Replacement) weight loss programs.

Obesity is known to be the leading cause (80-85%) of those at risk of developing Type-2 Diabetes, and with more pressure on the NHS than ever before, alternative solutions are needed now. The success of The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan in reversing Type-2 Diabetes not only clinically proves the effectiveness of being on Planbut also reinforces the groundbreaking capabilities of TDR programs over other alternatives.

Mark Gilbert, Commercial Nutritionist at The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, said that The 1:1 Diet is proud that the NHS is using the lessons learned from scientific studies using their diet program to help some of the estimated five million Type-2 Diabetics in the UK. The 1:1 Diet has been helping millions of people lose weight for nearly forty years by providing the right nutritionally balanced products, an easy plan, and one-to-one support from trained diet consultants.

The findings of the DiRECT trial highlight the effectiveness of The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan in reversing Type-2 Diabetes and the importance of personalised support in achieving long-term results. With more and more people struggling with obesity and Type-2 Diabetes, this program provides an alternative solution that could help millions of people lead healthier lives.
