Can I do both weight-loss injections and The 1:1 Diet?
If you have been prescribed GLP-1, you can use The 1:1 Diet products, following the Steps plan, and receive dedicated one-to-one support as part of your weight loss journey.
What support will I get whilst using both weight-loss injections and The 1;1 Diet products?
Your Consultant will provide you with regular weekly weigh-ins, motivation, and guidance on the Step you're following. You will also have access to the app for recipes, ordering, and tracking progress. Any advice regarding your GLP-1 medication must come from your prescriber.
If I am weight-loss injections, what products can I buy?
You can purchase any of The 1:1 Diet products through your Consultant, but they will advise which different ones are best for you depending on the Step you are on. Certain products don't fall into the lower Steps, which is why it's great to have your Consultant there to guide you.
Can I stop taking weight-loss injections and just follow The 1:1 Diet?
Absolutely. As GLP-1 can be part of the Steps, you can continue using The 1:1 Diet even if you stop your GLP-1 medication. You should speak to your pharmacist for support and guidance regarding your GLP-1 usage.
Why is Step 2 is the lowest that GLP-1 users can be on?
While there’s no research indicating that lower Steps are unsafe for those on GLP-1 medication, Step 2 is recommended as the lowest Starting Step for a few key reasons:
- GLP-1 medications significantly reduce appetite, so dieters must consume at least one conventional meal per day alongside their products to support satiety and nutritional adequacy.
- Step 2 allows for flexibility to increase protein intake in the food meal if there are concerns about rapid weight loss or lean muscle loss.
- From a clinical and professional standpoint, recommending Step 2 also reduces potential scrutiny from external healthcare professionals. While Meal Replacement Products (MRPs) like ours are safe and well-researched, the wider dietetic and medical community can be wary of food-free approaches, despite there being no evidence-based reason for concern.
This guidance strikes a balance between optimal nutritional care and professional credibility, ensuring Consultants can confidently support GLP-1 users while minimising external challenge.
