Corby-based firm, The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, is one of 56 businesses in the Midlands who have been selected as an Export Champion by the Department for International Trade (DIT).
The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan was launched in the UK 35 years ago and supported millions of dieters across the globe who’ve sought out a nutritionally-balanced and effective way to lose weight. It has become one of the most respected brands in the industry, from being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2013, to becoming a company fully owned by its employees in 2014.
The last 12 months has seen The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan not only achieve substantial growth, but also receive endorsement from a number of medical studies that have proven its success in helping people to lose weight and also maintain it.
Worldwide, The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan is sold through an extensive distributor network and its products are currently exported to 45 countries around the world through 30 independent distributors.
The Exporting is GREAT campaign was launched in 2015 to raise awareness of the benefits of exporting to UK business and aimed to inspire international trade by showcasing success stories.
At the heart of the campaign is its Export Champion Community: everyday businesses of all shapes and sizes from around the UK that are proudly selling overseas.
They form a nationwide network of UK companies that are ambassadors for exporting, sharing, offering practical advice, and leading by example.
Andy Jones has been Head of Export at The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan for four years.
