- The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan was created by biochemist, Dr Alan Howard, and his colleague, Dr Ian McLean-Baird
- The brand officially launched in 1984 as The Cambridge Diet
- When the diet was first launched in the UK, the main products were chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes
- The 1:1 Diet now has 48 products, four Step Up Meals and five water flavourings
- The most recent new product launch was Thai Green Curry with Noodles
- The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan is available in 35 countries around the world
- The first Consultant was John Bradley who joined the business on April 1, 1984, and is still a consultant today
- This February, the number of consultants providing one-to-one support for dieters exceeded 5,000
- The company has provided 77 hours’ worth of training to new consultants since January 1, 2019
- Our most popular consultant names in order are Sarah, Karen and Emma
- Our most popular consultant surnames are Smith, Jones and Taylor
- Each year a number of dieters are recognised for achieving their personal weight-loss goals in front of thousands of people at the Annual Convention

- Cambridge Weight Plan Ltd in 2014 became a company fully owned by its awesome employees and an active member of the Employee Ownership Association
- Chris McDermott, Managing Director, joined the company back in 2003 as a PR Executive
- Our snazzy factory in Corby is a zero-landfill site with all our waste products either sent for recycling or transferred into energy from waste reprocessing
- More than 350 million products have been manufactured in Corby since 1986
- We are proud to say that more than 90 per cent of all product manufacture takes place in the UK
- The company now employs more than 220 people at our HQ
- In recent years, the company has won 13 awards across the food manufacturing, export trade and direct selling sectors
- In 1999, the business was granted Investors in People status and still holds that accolade
