I've struggled with losing weight since I was 14. We went to America for 2 weeks holiday and I gained 2 stone in those 2 weeks, my self-esteem plummeted, I stopped participating in sports, and I became obsessed with hiding my body. This is when I was once diagnosed with depression. I truly believe my mental health was impacted by the sudden weight gain.
From then on things got worse. I have tried most fad diets, including the old cabbage soup. The month before my 36th birthday my life was spiralling out of control. My anxiety and depression were so bad I could barely cope with driving, I stopped looking after myself, and I was signed off work. The doctors prescribed me antidepressants that combats depression and anxiety.
Things started to come together, and I finally got an appointment for an Mri to see what is happening with my back. I have curved spine and the pain has been getting worse including in my hips making walking difficult. So, feeling on the up I gladly headed off to my appointment. Well, that's when it happened. I got stuck, I was too big to fit in the machine. I felt like a big ball of dough being squeezed through a tube. I felt humiliated and my anxiety went through the roof.
I text my mother about this mortifying event and sat in my car and cried for 30 minutes. I got home wondering what on earth I was going to do. My mother had told my sister what had happened. My sister is also a consultant. She got me on plan and set goals. When I lost that first stone I started to feel brighter. I realised when I’m being healthy my mental health is healthy. When I eat junk, guess what, my mental health is junk.
The 2 go hand-in-hand. I'm still on plan and became a consultant to support others in their quest for weight loss. I send daily messages and have regular contact with those who need it. We have a group on WhatsApp where we all share our ups and downs of daily life and support each other to stay on plan. I can see you weekly face-to-face or remotely for weekly one-to-one sessions and we can talk through your day as much as you need. I will tailor your plan to suit your life.

How do I find the right Consultant?
When you put in your postcode, you’ll see all the Consultants nearest you. Don’t worry if they’re not on your doorstep – lots of our Consultants are happy to come to you. Take a look at their profile and read what the dieters they have helped so far say – that should help you find someone on your wavelength. If you want to find out more before making an appointment, you can call, text or drop them an email.
How’s this different to other diet plans?
The 1:1 Diet is a lot more flexible than other weight-loss plans and it’s the ONLY one that gives you dedicated, one-to-one support from your own personal diet Consultant. That means your diet is designed for you, and only you. Together with your Consultant, you’ll work out an easy-to-follow eating plan that fits with your routine and gets you the results you want.

You might have noticed each Consultant has an awards and achievements panel on their profile. Being a Consultant brings loads of benefits and as they build their business, Consultants achieve awards for their hard work. This might be from superb support to all of their clients to help them hit those weight-loss goals, to helping others in their team build their own successful business. The 1:1 Diet is all about recognising and rewarding these efforts and part of the reward is giving Consultants badges on their webpage, to show you what they’ve achieved.
