As a new mum I felt the pressure both mentally and physically of being ‘super woman’. With comments such as “you’ll lose your weight straight away” “you’ll be fine, you were with your first child” but then came the comments of “your belly’s still showing” “have you been getting some exercise in!!”.
I began to compare my first and second pregnancy’s and in actual fact there were no comparison other than both traumatic. I had no control over either of them. This is where my journey began. With the support of my sister and Cambridge consultant I realised I could be in control of 2 things, my body and my mind. As a new family, we forgot to eat, didn’t have time to eat, couldn’t be bothered to cook for one. Take aways were easy to order late at night or just go to bed having eaten hardly anything all day.
That’s when I discovered Cambridge products. After a hectic breakfast time and school run it was so nice to come home, have a glass of water or make a brew and have a chocolate bar ?? still my craving but know that it’s actually good for me. Then on with being super woman I would get before soon realising it was lunch time. ‘ too much effort to prepare something so another bar it was, maybe yoghurt flavoured along with a brew or flavoured water. School run approached, home, feed baby, cook for child 1 then swimming lessons, bath both children and greet hubby who’s worked 12 hours. Bedtime and stories and then realise it’s gone 8pm and no tea prepared!!! Both hubby and I shattered. It’s another bar or maybe a noodle mug shot alongside water. All of which contain everything my body required. I felt in control and knew this was doing me good. I didn’t want to be a model or prove anything to anyone. I just wanted to be ME again. 17 weeks down the line and I’m beginning to find ME after many trips to the doctors and having the courage to talk to my friends and family who all responded ‘it’s normal’. Some days I still question “is it?” But then I tell myself I’m fine and by talking to one other person the reassurance is instant. I therefore want to be that 1:1 support. My hubby will be supporting both men and women too. Look out for his story and be part of his journey too.

How do I find the right Consultant?
When you put in your postcode, you’ll see all the Consultants nearest you. Don’t worry if they’re not on your doorstep – lots of our Consultants are happy to come to you. Take a look at their profile and read what the dieters they have helped so far say – that should help you find someone on your wavelength. If you want to find out more before making an appointment, you can call, text or drop them an email.
How often will I need to see my Consultant?
You’ll typically see your Consultant once a week for a weigh in and catch up, but you will have their phone number and you may get regular calls or texts from them in between appointments. A lot of our Consultants use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep in touch with their dieters too. They’re there to support you, so make sure you lean on them when the going gets tough - as it sometimes will. They’ll know exactly how to keep you on track.
How’s this different to other diet plans?
