At 23 I was diagnosed with PCOS, which can cause weight gain that’s difficult to lose, my situation since the age of 18. I was also told I would need IVF to conceive.
My weight continued to go up and no matter how hard or what diet I tried nothing could help me fight my losing battle
I felt my life had been one long diet. I had nothing to lose when I discovered Cambridge Weight Plan a few years ago. I was at my largest, felt and looked dreadful, the years of being overweight had taken its toll on my joints, I felt 78 rather than 38.
I didn’t want to leave the house, it affected my self esteem, my relationships, and consumed every aspect of my life.
I contacted my local consultant with low expectations that anything could help me now. I expected to be on a liquid only diet and to be hungry all the time. I was WRONG.
The first week was hard. Losing old habits can be tricky especially when your self esteem was as low as mine. But once I found out I had lost 9lbs* IN A WEEK I became determined to see it through.
Five months later I was 5 stone* down and I felt great. I felt like a teenager but with more confidence than I’d ever had. My joints weren’t creaking anymore, I had compliments from everyone I came into contact with (which takes some getting used to), and I wasn’t afraid of having my photo taken. My ‘before’ picture is one of around 3 that I could find from the last 20 years as I had become very skilled at avoiding the camera!
Within a month of getting to my target weight I fell pregnant. No IVF for me!
My body had finally started functioning in the was it was intended to!
The Plan provided my body with 100% of my nutritional needs, whilst returning me to the original ME.
I couldn’t wait to get back on the plan to lose the baby weight, full of confidence that it will work again. And it is!
I know I won’t return to the overweight, unhappy, unhealthy me, because of the education and maintenance the plan provides.
I am such a fan that I have made it my vocation to help others feel as great as I do.

How do I find the right Consultant?
When you put in your postcode, you’ll see all the Consultants nearest you. Don’t worry if they’re not on your doorstep – lots of our Consultants are happy to come to you. Take a look at their profile and read what the dieters they have helped so far say – that should help you find someone on your wavelength. How often will I need to see my Consultant?
You’ll typically see your Consultant once a week for a weigh in and catch up, but you will have their phone number and you may get regular calls or texts from them in between appointments. A lot of our Consultants use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep in touch with their dieters too. They’re there to support you, so make sure you lean on them when the going gets tough - as it sometimes will. They’ll know exactly how to keep you on track.
How’s this different to other diet plans?

That means your diet is designed for you, and only you. Together with your Consultant, you’ll work out an easy-to-follow eating plan that fits with your routine and gets you the results you want.
