DiRECT has proven that it is possible to put Type 2 diabetes into remission using a low-calorie formula diet-based weight management programme. (That’s one of the great things The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan does.)
The results showed that more than a third of dieters who lost over 10 kilos on the programme had put their diabetes into remission.
Pretty impressive, hey! We’re definitely proud of these results!
Professor Anthony Leeds, Medical Director at The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, said: “It’s great to see further evidence that Type 2 diabetes can be reversed through significant weight loss. This follows another report showing Total Diet Replacement programmes, combined with one-to-one support, are an effective and cost-efficient way to lose weight long term.
“We’ve seen hundreds of people on our plan successfully reverse their Type 2 diabetes, while still maintaining their weight loss. This is all through a simple programme of low-calorie formula products and one-to-one support from a Consultant.”
Don’t just take our word for it though, check out the results here:
Why are we so special
We’ve got our 3Ps. Our Products (which this research shows really do work) and our Plan. But more importantly, we’ve got our People… The Consultants who support their dieters through every stage of their weight loss journey. The Consultants are the final magic ingredient to a really successful diet – it’s like having your own cheerleader, keeping you going when it gets tough (which it does with all diets!).
The Diabetes UK conference is created for health professionals, specifically those who play a role in diagnosing and/or treating or contributing to the treatment of diabetes and the other health conditions that are related to it.
This new research update (which was carried out using the products we’ve made), will be presented at the conference. They’re also sharing some new results on the longer-term effects of our products in reversing diabetes.
There will be loads of talks at the conference by many of the world’s top experts on diabetes, obesity and metabolic disease, about how these conditions occur and how to treat them. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss their thoughts and share their knowledge with 3000 other diabetes experts and professionals and browse the results of over 500 new diabetes-related studies.
