Northamptonshire-based David Moffat is celebrating having lost an impressive seven stone with The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.
David, 42, is manager and coach for Gretton FC children’s football team in his spare time, in which his youngest son Maxwell plays. David felt spurred on to lose some weight after realising his weight and low fitness levels left him unable to demonstrate the skills to the youngsters he was coaching.
Father-of-two, David, said: “In late December 2019 I remember telling the boys on the team what I wanted them to do, but I quickly realised I couldn’t physically demonstrate it myself. I was so embarrassed in front of all the parents and kids there!
“I decided that I would see the year out as we were due to take the kids to Lapland and Christmas was just around the corner, but after that knew it was time to get serious about losing weight for good this time!”
David found The 1:1 Diet through a parent of one of the players on his son’s team, who is a Diet Consultant.
David explained: ‘‘I knew that I had to do something to lose the weight, so I got in touch with my Consultant and asked for more details. After an initial consultation with her, I decided that I would start on New Year’s Day 2020, kickstarting the year as I meant to go on.
‘’It was so easy to follow – I had a set Plan in place which was great. I didn’t have to weigh anything or count anything or watch what was in certain foods. It was all done for me and I loved the convenience of it.
“Although the first few weeks were hard, once I’d got into it I had a routine for my work shift patterns and any events in my social life.”
Fast forward a year, and David had managed to lose an incredible seven stone.
“I now feel more alert and awake and have so much more energy, but more importantly I have a much more positive mindset.
“Before losing weight I would struggle to tie my own shoelaces. This might seem such a simple task to most people, but for me, being overweight it was hard for me to bend down.
“In general, I feel so much fitter and healthier and a huge bonus is that now, when training with the boys, I am able to demonstrate to them exactly what I’d like them to do.
“I now train weekly with the team and also enjoy running three times a week. My sons will often come along with me for a run and it feels great to be able to do these things together.
“As a family we are more aware of healthy foods, everything in moderation and enjoying exercise and getting outdoors.”
David now plans to accomplish one of his life goals - run a half marathon!
“Due to my weight and lack of fitness I have put this off. But now – finally - I feel in the best shape and fitness ever so now is my time! Something I didn't think I’d ever be able to do before losing all of this weight.
“I couldn’t have done this without the one to one support of my Consultant, who was there to help and support me every step of the way”.
