Aileen Gray had to order a man’s larger size uniform for her job as a ticket inspector on public transport. After struggling for a while she knew it was time to take action and lose weight.
“I’d been squeezing into size 22 tops and my bras had gone up to 40ins. By the time I was 19-and-a-half stone, I had to ask for a man’s size 42in waist trousers and a 2XL men’s shirt for my work uniform, because the women’s sizes didn’t go up enough for me.”
“I had always been struggling to walk on my shift. We have stairs to climb to the depo office in the stations and I was out of breath getting up them. I also noticed pain in my knees and ankles, which had originally been caused by an old motorbike injury but was getting worse. In addition, I had horrific stomach acid reflux, which was horrible and really uncomfortable.
“One of the tram drivers I work with had lost two stone and I asked how he’d done that and was told it was through The 1:1 Diet, so I looked it up online. I hummed and hawed about trying it out to begin with, but the website was really helpful and inspiring, I then found consultant Lynsey Young and called her up.”
